Modeling Influence with Ashly Rae
Modeling Influence with
Ashly is born and raised as a small town girl from Scotland with a population of only 5000 people. At 18 years of age, she moved to London to pursue a career in modeling after attempting college twice and dropping out both times.
As a model, Ashly learned the the true definition of “thick skin” and built the mindset of determination and the attitude of a non-quitter.
“I had to learn to not take no for an answer and find a way no matter what.”
This mindset Ashly had created for herself is something she later carried over when introduced to the industry of Network Marketing which eventually led her to be a personal success coach.
”As I continued my modeling career at the same time, I learned very quickly to differentiate myself from others. I had no other choice or I wouldn’t get any jobs, as there was so much competition. I had to work harder than everyone else. I ended up insuring my legs for $1 million and became a sought after model. Before that I was just another girl.”
How did you get inspired to start doing what you do as an influencer in your industry that has to lead to where you are now?:
I was in a bad place when I started my social marketing business. So I wanted to show other women that no matter where you are it’s possible to make positive changes. To increase your income, confidence and even grow a positive circle or friends from nothing.
We often have a book, podcast, video, or event stand out to us that was instrumental in shifting our perspective in business. Do you have one that stands out to you and was a significant impact for you moving forward? If so, can you share?
Yes. Oh definitely. I watched Tony Robbins on Oprah and he said, “what is the story you are telling yourself, is it serving you? If not change it”. When I hearing that…it hit me! I realized the story I was telling myself was so weak. Everything changed for me in that moment.
What are some of your biggest lessons learned over the years through the evolution of the industry and what are you applying to your business today that is working for you that you maybe were not doing before.
LIVE VIDEO - Everyday live video. Educating rather than selling.
What has been your biggest challenge and how have you worked to overcome it?
How quickly social media trends change. What worked last month may not work as well this month. It’s constant change.
What’s the best advice you ever received?
Help others. Serve people. The more problems you can solve for other people, the wealthier you will be.
What’s your best advice for handling criticism?
Love the people dishing it out for where they are. It has nothing to do with you, remember that! It’s their perception of who you are and you have NO control over that. Have the faith to accept what you can’t change, the courage to focus on what you can and the awareness to know the difference.
What do you believe your true purpose is? What value and impact do you hope serve and give to others?
Help other women see what’s possible. For them to have no excuse to give themselves over why they aren’t happy or where they want to be. To awaken women to their power to control their own futures. Nobody is stuck, to give women the courage to make changes and the faith and support to see those changes through.
How do you structure your days?
It depends. We are always in different seasons. If I am in hustle mode I will be up, in shower and straight to work. If I’m in a more evolving, expanding, personal growth place. I will meditate, journal, go for a walk, make yummy breakfast. I use to put so much pressure on myself about doing a perfect miracle morning now I go with how I feel and what I need at that time.
How do you find time to follow your entrepreneurial journey while juggling other life responsibilities?
FOCUS! Focus is everything. We all have plenty of time and energy. It’s not always easy dealing with situations head on and not overthinking them. But, you’ll find far more time in your day dealing with things that way.
What tools do you find indispensable in your day-to-day business?
My phone! Ha ha. And my journal.
Social Media is such a gateway for influencer’s today. What platforms work best for you and why do you choose to use them the most?
Facebook and Instagram. I love going LIVE.
What are you tips for maintaining a present influence on these platforms and how do you encouraging continued engagement with your following?
Consistency! Show up everyday. You have a relationship with your audience they need to see you.
What can people expect to see when following you?
Inspiration, honesty, branding and influencer marketing advice. How to attract your dream clients.
What do you believe set's you apart from others in your same industry?
I am no nonsense. I’m not going to sugar coat things for you because I KNOW what it takes to get results and that’s what I want for you.
I will always share advice with love and honesty. I don’t pretend to be perfect, if things change then my advice will change. I’m not going to keep telling you to do something that isn’t working just because I have a course or something to sell. I want you to get results that’s my greatest and deepest wish.
What’s next for you?
Ooooh so much.. speaking, books, tours, more podcasting, collaborations. Constant growth.
Lastly, what legacy do you hope to leave behind and imprint do you hope to make on others?
I want other women to look at what message I’ve spread and say, “If Ashly did it so can I!”
Where can people find you?
